Where to stay in Sydney, Ovolo 1888

Now I’m not sure if it’s possible to be completely in love with a hotel but I am and I just wish we’d stayed there more than one night!

I’m talking about Ovolo 1888 in Sydney’s Darling Harbour. When I say it’s the coolest hotel I’ve ever stayed in, it’s no lie. It’s literally the best place ever! The hotel is built within an old converted wool store and a lot of the original features can still be seen in the lobby/bar area.

After our epic month travelling the East Coast of Australia we had one final night/day in Sydney before flying home so I booked us into the Ovolo because of its central location within the city and I’d heard so many amazing things I wanted to try it out for myself.

Often it’s cheaper to book hotels through third party sites like booking.com but not with Ovolo 1888. By booking direct we got the best rate and also loads of great add extras like: free breakfast, free minibar and free happy hour between 5.30 and 6.30pm! We actually checked in at 6.21pm so only had 9minutes to sneak in a free beverage.

We booked a king deluxe room to give ourselves a little more space, especially as we had to re-pack (for the 100th time).bed white sheets hotel

The hotel team were literally the cutest, they left us the nicest card and donuts to celebrate the end of our honeymoon and thank us for choosing the hotel as our final stop. Such a lovely surprise!

Our room was really bright and the bed was possibly the most comfortable from our whole trip!

It was the perfect place for our final day in Sydney because it was literally a stones through from Darling Harbour and all the bars and restaurants.

Next time we’re in Sydney and there will be a next time we’re going to book Ovolo 1888 for our entire stay in the city.
