It’s National Lipstick Day and I Couldn’t be Happier

Today, 29th July is National Lipstick Day and I couldn’t be happier. I am a self-confessed lipstick lover, ok so I did say towards the Lancôme Juicy Tubes in my younger years, but there’s just something about lipstick which keeps drawing me back in.

For me, lipstick represents my mood of the day and how I want to be portrayed by others. On my wedding day I opted for Clinique Sweet Pop which is a gorgeous bright pink, a colour which always makes me happy. But for serious client meetings I reach for a nude or the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk, I feel like it’s my power confidence giving colour and wearing it I could take on the world.

So in honour of this national day I thought I’d show you just a few of the lipsticks I simply adore at the moment.

Charlotte Tilbury – Pillow Talk

Firstly the packaging of Charlotte Tilbury products are simply gorgeous but having fabulous packaging doesn’t mean it will always be amazing. However, with Charlotte Tilbury this is the case, I love Pillow Talk, not only is the colour beautiful but the formula is really creamy and nourishing for a matte lipstick. For me this is my go to for work meetings where I want to impress and portray a serious side.

Clinique – Sweet Pop

I love the Clinique Pop range not only does it give a great colour pay off but it’s also a primer. I wore Sweet Pop on my wedding day so it’s a colour which will always be very close to my heart. It’s a really gorgeous formula and leaves a really lovely finish.

MAC Cremesheen – Pure Zen

This is my 100% go to nude, Pure Zen is a frosted warm nude. The formula is really creamy and long lasting. I use this all the time to the point it’s not slightly misshaped in the bullet! MAC are also giving away free lipsticks today (29 July) head down to one of their counters and receive a free lipstick when you spend over £40 on product. There are six shades to choose from including:

Stone: a grey-tinged brown
Media: a deep burgundy red
Captive: a light raspberry pink
Cyber: a brave dark purple
MAC Red: a true red
Fleshpot: a pale nude

Topshop – Tease

Having looked at the Topshop website, Tease doesn’t seem to be there anymore but I know the beauty department in Oxford Street is vast! Topshop lipsticks are great and they are so reasonably priced at just £8. Tease is a really fun flirty colour which I use quite a lot when the sun decides to shine.

By Terry – Flamingo Kiss

Ok so although it’s not a ‘traditional’ lipstick shape I really like the teardrop shaped tip which is designed to contour the lips. Flamingo Kiss is a really bright pink and I only use it occasionally because it’s so bright but it’s still one of my top five!

That’s my top five, what’s your most reached for lipstick? Happy National Lipstick Day!
