Birchbox x Oliver Bonas Review

It’s been a while since I’ve had a Birchbox through my door, I put my subscription on hold for a while but when I heard they were collaborating with Oliver Bonas I knew I needed it.

collaboration between oliver bonas and Birchbox

Like most people I know, I love Oliver Bonas and every time I step foot in their stores there’s at least 20 different things I’m convinced I need. Last time I just popped in for a ‘look’ I came out with a marble coaster with initial in rose gold on it. I mean am I really a blogger if I don’t have a marble coaster sat on my desk?

Anyway back to the Birchbox collab and what was in the box. The theme of the box was ‘Work Hard, Play Hard & Be Kind’ which I flipping love. It’s such a true statement and should be applied by everyone!

Product wise, it was a real mix. I loved the mini Dr. PawPaw the perfect handbag size and especially useful this time of year when my lips start to get a little dry with the change in weather.

I loved the Polaar, IcyMagic Instant Eye Contour Energiser, although I was a little sceptical when I first used it I did find it actually made a difference to my under eyes. It contains ginseng which both brighten and tones.

I have to admit I wasn’t a fan of the Rouge Bunny Rouge bronzing glow liquid, for me the product consistency was too watery and I prefer my bronzer to give a little more of a sunkissed look rather than ‘hey, over here I’m wearing bronzer’

This morning I tested out the R +Co high dive moisture and shine cream which I don’t dislike but for some reason I don’t 100% love it. It’s made my hair super shiny and glossy but there’s just something I’m not a fan of. I think it might be the scent, it’s a little bit chemical for me.

The final product in the box is a Birchbox exclusive – Manna Kadar, fantasy three in one blush, highlighter and eyeshadow. The colour is gorgeous and I love a multi-tasking product I can take on my travels with me. This will be a firm favourite in my travelling make up bag.

So for me product wise it was a bit of a mixed bag but I liked the collaboration, especially as it include a 15% off discount code which I’ll be using for some new bedside tables lamps.

I’ve decided that I’ll keep my subscription up until the end of the year and then when my office is over-run with beauty products I may put it on hold again. It’s just such a nice treat to yourself to receive through the post each month!
