Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Birchbox

This month’s Birchbox came sliding through my door on Saturday, ok so when I say sliding through my door what I really mean is the nice lady from Hermes banged loudly and thrust it into my hands.

In honour of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, Bircthbox teamed up with amazing boob charity CoppaFeel. For those of you who don’t know CoppaFeel is dedicated in stamping out the late detection of breast cancer by promoting as you’ve guessed us ladies copping a feel of our fun bags in the regs and making sure all is hunky dory.

Did you know that one in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime and around 5,600 women under the age of 45 are diagnosed every year?! This is why charities like CoppaFeel are vital in the educating us about checking our boobs.

The theme of the October box is all about feeling good and being the best version of yourself. Firstly let’s all take a moment to appreciate the dreamy pink/purple/marble effect box –love. Also I’m loving that Birchbox have switched to the draw style box instead of the boring lift off lid. I find the draws much better to use for storage and can be easily stacked.

So what’s in this month’s box?

Product wise it’s a really nice mix including a Birchbox exclusive from Anatomicals, a black liquid eyeliner and contour tool.

Anatomicals, Grab your melons shower gel. This product has been created exclusively with CoppaFeel and Birchbox and it smells incredible. There’s not much else to say, it’s a shower gel, lathers up well and smells AMAZING.

ModelCo Contour Stick. This isn’t really for me, I’m not one for the whole contoured look, plus being from Essex I’m always really conscious of looking too overdone. I’ve seen some amazing contoured looks on Instagram but it’s just not really my style.

Balance Me, Pure Skin Face Wash. I really like this wash especially because it’s 99% natural. My skin can be a bit overactive so the more sensitive the product the better for me.

EcoTools, Contour Perfecting Applicator. To me it basically looks like a Beauty blender on a stick, I like and think it will be great for highlighter since I won’t be going down the contour route!

Eyeko, Skinny Liquid Eyeliner. Nice handbag size, glides across the lid well even for the wobbly of hands! Again there’s only so much you can say about a black liquid liner.
