L’Oreal Paris Infallible foundation shaping stick review

I’ve always tended to shy away from stick foundations, they remind me too much of being a teenager and basically trowelling it on. I also used to find them too heavy on my skin making it feel all clogged and ikky. (Technical beauty term right there) I’ve also found stick foundations in the past have highlighted my pores and made them (in my opinion) look enormous!

But, after seeing a lot of hype online about the new L’Oreal Paris Infallible Foundation Shaping Sticks I knew I wanted to give them a go and see if they really lived up to the hype.

I picked up shade 120 Vanilla Rose and on first impressions I like it. The formula is quite hydrating and blends really easily with both a sponge and brush and it stays put. I like that it’s buildable and long wearing (I wore it for work the other week and applied it at around 6.15am and didn’t take it off until I got home at 7pm and it didn’t go caky at all).

The great thing about the L’Oreal foundation shaping sticks is they cover base, concealer and contour and come in 12 different shades. Now, I don’t do contouring purely because I tend to stick to a more natural look (not to say contouring can’t look nature) but also it’s from fear. I fear of getting it completely wrong and looking streaky! But, if I were to branch out into contouring I’d definitely use the shaping sticks – I feel like they would make it as easy as possible that even I couldn’t cock it up!

Apologies for the grubby looking sponge #bloggerfail

Vanilla Rose matches my skin tone perfectly and blends well, I tend to use a foundation brush to start with and then switch to a beauty blender for the final stages to give a shine-free even base. Also, the stick is perfect for travelling and hand luggage, especially when you’re restricted on space!

This foundation has become a firm favourite in my make-up collection and although it won’t replace my love for Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Foundation it will be my go to when travelling.

At the moment Boots has a great offer on L’Oreal, buy three products and get the cheapest free! Go Go Go it’s only £8.99!

Shade 120 vanilla rose is similar to NW20 or darker? On pictures 140 natural rose seems to be lighter. Have you see in real life bote shades to compare them? Thanks!
