Top tips for making the most out of all-inclusive holidays

Years ago when you mentioned all-inclusive holiday’s thoughts immediately turned to Brits abroad, sunbed wars, buffets filled with beige and endless rounds of cocktails in a fairly average hotel. But roll forward a few years and now, all-inclusive not only offers the ultimate luxury – I mean who doesn’t want cocktails on tap at any moment? Even better if the pool has a swim up bar!

But, it’s also a fantastic way to travel on a budget, you essentially know that everything is already covered in the price and all that’s left to worry about is the spending money and new wardrobe!. Holiday Gems has all-inclusive deals and i’m currently eyeing up Cape Verde after seeing it pop up on Celeb’s Go Dating!

I’ve come up with some top tips for making the most of your all-inclusive holiday

  1. Leave the resort

I cannot stress this one enough; leaving the resort is an absolute must. I always make sure I’ve got some trips booked or activities planned. When I went to Barbados some of my favourite experiences weren’t in the resort, the Jammin catamaran trip around the south coast was incredible and the absolute highlight was Oistins fish fry on a Friday night, the atmosphere was electric.

  1. Switch up where you dine

Most resorts now offer so many different dining options but I always find it so easy to find one I love and then stick to it. But, I try and make myself try as many options as possible to get the full experience – plus I love food!

  1. Avoid sunbed wars

I don’t think there’s anything worse than seeing people run down to the pool at 8am to claim their spot. Chances are there will be hundreds of sun beds dotted all around your chosen resort and not forgetting the beach! Don’t be that Brit abroad getting up at the crack just to claim your spot.

  1. Try all the facilities

I’m so guilty of going on holiday and just wedging my nose in a book for the week and not moving. But, I always find myself on the plane home wishing I’d tried out the watersports facilities or booked myself in for a spa treatment. Don’t forget to make use of everything on offer.

5. Have the best time

This is an absolute no brainer! Have the best holiday ever!

Have you booked your summer holiday yet? Where’s on your bucket list?
