Remember you are enough

It’s funny, I like to think of myself as quite a confident person. Honestly I could make a friend in an empty room! But when it comes to blogging and blogger events this confidence evaporates quicker than a g&t on a Friday night! I don’t know why?

I work in PR so am always meeting new people, hosting events and networking. I like to think I’m at the top of my game when it comes to my work life. I know what you’re thinking, get her old modest Maureen over there. But, I think it comes down to understanding and knowing my purpose when I’m at work.

However, flip it over to my ‘blogger life’ I go to pieces and start worrying. Comparison is the thief of joy, that my friends is a cold hard fact and in these days of social media and the internet it’s so easy to compare myself to literally the entire world!

For example, I was invited to the personal styling show at John Lewis in Chelmsford, Essex. I was part of a group of six other bloggers and the first two thoughts which went through my head were:  Yay a brand I love thinks I’m good enough to be invited and then immediately switched to what if none of the other bloggers like me, what if they think my content is crap, what if, what if, what if? Silly, right?!

In the past these thoughts have actually stopped me attending events I’ve been invited to, purely because of my own fear. But, after the John Lewis event I don’t know what I was worried about, all of the other blogger ladies were so lovely and actually people I speak to online all the time!

I realise this is quite a long ramble on but what I’m trying to say is we are all enough. We are all fabulous and beautiful and our differences are what makes us amazing.
