As the title would suggest I’ve bought a few make up bits and pieces from L’Oréal recently and thought I’d share my love, my loathe and my just a bit meh product.
I know I’m making it sound like over bought the entire range from mascaras to foundations but I actually haven’t it’s just three products!
Life’s a peach blusher – oooooo this is good! I will normally reach for a pink based blusher because I’ve found it suits my complexion better but I saw Lydia Elise Millien rave about Life’s a Peach so I thought I’d give it a whirl. OMG it smells of peaches and not a chemical fake peach smell! Packaging wise it’s a bit plasticky and clunky but does come with a generous sized mirror and internally stored brush for touch ups on the go, pretty good give the price tag of about £8. It’s a matte blusher without any hint of shimmer which I love. Nice wash of peachy tones without ending up like an oompa lumpa! A new summer make up bag favourite.
Nudista skin tint – after coming back from Greece my skin was a little tanned for my normal foundation and I wanted something much lighter for the summer months. I commute to London every day and in the summer foundation always feels like it’s clogging up my skin. I didn’t do enough research when buying this, I basically saw it a couple of times online and then just grabbed it in store – so this is on me. I find it really ‘Meh’ it doesn’t sink into my skin, it basically sits on top and moves around. I’ve tried applying it a number of ways – fingers, beauty blender and brush but, the result is always the same. I’m persevering with it but deep down I know I should just give up and invest in the IT Cosmetics CC cream. (I’ve heard it’s incredible)
Infaillible 24hr Lipstick – I only picked this up because Boots were doing a 3 for 2 offer and you know how I can’t resist an offer! I bought Timeless Rose which is a rose pink colour but what I didn’t realise is the amount of sparkle in it! It’s almost like something I’d have worn in the early noughties in my ‘youth’. I don’t want to be a complete negative Norman so the doe foot applicator is really nice and would be great in a product I actually liked! I found the formula of the lip colour really drying, I know matte lipsticks can be a little drying but this is worse than being in the Sahara desert without water! It does get better when applying the boosting balm and I actually like the balm on its own. It’s safe to say this wasn’t one of my best buying purchases.
So that’s it my love, loathe and just a bit meh. Do you ever have this when buying makeup and skincare products?
