If I hadn’t already mentioned it I’m off to Ibiza in August and I’m beyond excited. We’re heading out the weekend Radio 1 are taking over the island, this is a trip which has been about 10 years in the making.
Every year for the last 10 my friend Vicki and I have always talked about going out to Ibiza for Radio 1 weekend and last year we very nearly went, but there was one small snag – we left it until the very last minute and the price of flights and accommodation was astronomical so instead we decided to book early which saved us loads of money.
So, now that flights and gorgeous hotel (Sol House Ibiza) have been booked and paid for we’re now in the throes of planning and also questioning if we can still party like we used to? (My money is on, probably not) I know you’re itching to know what we’re doing (or maybe not), so here goes:
Luckily (or less so) our flights are at 8am on Friday morning which means we’ll be in residence and unpacked ready for Radio 1’s take over at the iconic Café Mambo. I’ve got such fond memories of Café Mambo and it’s possibly one of my favourite places in the world.
Saturday night Radio 1Xtra are taking over the Ibiza Rocks Hotel which we’re hoping to snag tickets for. I think this will be the one which will show we *might* be a little past it.
I’m finally going to get to see the beautiful Formentara, we’ve booked to spend the day at the gorgeous Gecko Beach Club. Every time I see pictures of the island it makes me want to jump in a plane and jet off asap!
In between trying not to admit that I’m too old for a clubbing weekend there will be some extreme sunbathing next to the rooftop infinity pool at Sol House Hotel.
Have you been to Ibiza? I’d love to hear your recommendations of what else we should do whilst on the island.
