Where to even start with this one?!
I don’t think I’ve stayed in a more peaceful hotel, although both nights I stayed it was completely full it didn’t feel busy at all.
My room, well I say room it’s more of a detached cottage with the biggest bed I’ve ever slept in! So big I definitely think you could comfortably fit four! The balcony looks out upon the Al Hajar Mountains and gives the most amazing sunset viewing spot ever.
Hatta is about a two hour drive from Central Dubai and only 10km from the border of Oman. The temperature is slightly cooler than in the city and in the next few months it’s going to be the perfect place for outdoor adventure activities.
The JA Hatta Fort Hotel is actually more of a resort in the way everything is laid out. There’s so much space, from the adult only pool to the lookout point across the mountains it never felt like I was crammed in with lots of people – sunbeds and umbrellas for daze, none of this fighting for space nonsense.
also fantastic for activities, they’ve literally got everything on off.
Mountain bikes, archery, pistol shooting, mini golf – you name it.
The food – the quality and variety is amazing. We had dinner in the Jeema restaurant which offers both al carte and buffet. I opted for the lobster, because, well I just can’t resist lobster if it’s on the menu!
Although it’s only a couple of hours drive from central Dubai it actually feels a world away because it’s so peaceful and quiet. It’s the perfect place to come after a few days in the city.
The best time to visit is from October through to March, the temperatures cool slightly making all the activities much more comfortable. Mountain biking in 37 degrees was a tad on the warm side!
